About Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a complete system that combines all the elements of yoga (breath, postures and meditation) into one practice. Each class explores how to use yoga and meditation to create a calm, happy and relaxed lifestyle by incorporating:
- breathing techniques for relaxation and rejuvenation
- physical exercise sets called a “kriya” to stimulate energy flow
- insight into yogic philosophy for daily use
- meditation and relaxation
The combination of these elements unites body, mind and soul to enhance vitality and self-awareness…it is the ultimate yoga experience!
I’m Melissa Mason, an advocate for the well-being of women and girls.
In my youth I lacked confidence thanks to severe acne issues, was extremely body conscious and felt worthless. I now realise these feelings were influenced by cultural messages about beauty which were 100% externally focused.
As an adult, this lack of self worth meant I (unknowingly) held myself back from opportunities and was petrified to step outside my comfort zone.
Despite my confidence challenges, I completed a Master of Marketing at University and have worked in the marketing industry for 14 years. I now use this experience to educate about practices certain industries use that may be harming your self-image.
I am inspired to help women and girls overcome their personal challenges by combining this knowledge with practical tools like yoga and meditation that can be used anytime, anywhere.
I was once a non-believer about yoga and meditation! However, with regular practice, I experienced changes so profound they eventually motivated me to become an instructor!
I believe we can create a world where healthy self-image for women and girls is the standard, not the exception.
